Frequently Asked Questions.

  • You do not need a referral to book privately funded therapy sessions.

If you are accessing services under a Medicare plan (such as a Mental Health Treatment Plan or Chronic Disease Management Plan), a valid referral from your GP is required prior to your first appointment.

If you are accessing services through the NDIS, no GP referral is required; however, we do require intake information to ensure we are the right fit for your child’s needs.

  • Yes. We support families who are:

    • Self-managed

    • Plan-managed

If you are unsure of your child’s funding type, our administration team can help guide you.

An intake process is required before commencing services to ensure we match your child with the most appropriate clinician and supports. Give our friendly admin team a call to get you started!

  • The duration of therapy varies depending on your child’s goals, strengths, and areas of need.

Some children attend for a short, goal-focused block of sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support. We regularly review progress and goals with families to ensure therapy remains purposeful and focused on building independence and confidence.

  • We understand that life happens. If you need to cancel or reschedule, we require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.

Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a cancellation fee. This policy helps us manage our waitlist and offer appointment times to other families who are waiting for support.

If your child is unwell, please contact our team as soon as possible so we can discuss options.

  • Yes. Telehealth appointments are available where clinically appropriate.

Telehealth can be a flexible option for families who live further away, have difficulty attending in person, or require parent-focused support sessions.

Our clinicians will discuss whether telehealth is suitable for your child’s needs.

  • Many private health funds provide rebates for allied health services. The rebate amount varies depending on your level of cover.

We recommend contacting your private health insurer directly to confirm:

    • Whether your plan includes allied health cover

    • The rebate amount per session

    • Your annual limits

We can provide invoices for you to submit to your health fund.

  • Parent involvement is an important part of therapy.

For younger children, parents often attend sessions or participate in part of the appointment. For older children and adolescents, parent involvement may occur at the beginning or end of sessions, or through scheduled parent review appointments.

Your clinician will discuss what level of involvement is most appropriate based on your child’s age, goals, and preferences.

  • Yes. We can provide written reports to support collaboration with schools, GPs, paediatricians, and other professionals.

Report preparation time is billed separately and will be discussed with you in advance. We aim to ensure reports are practical, clear, and helpful for supporting your child across settings.
