Group Programs
Our Minecraft Social Skills Group combines the creativity and fun of Minecraft with structured, evidence-informed social learning. This paediatric group program in Noosaville on the Sunshine Coast is organised and run by paediatric therapists from our Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Psychology teams, helping children build social confidence, communication skills, and friendships in a supportive environment.
❋ Our Approach
Guided by our experienced Allied Health clinicians, children develop important skills such as communication, teamwork, emotional understanding, and problem-solving while engaging in collaborative gameplay in a safe and supportive environment.
❋How We Work
This group is suitable for children aged 7–9 years and 10–12 years who:
Enjoy games and collaborative activities
Would benefit from developing social communication and friendship skills
Are able to participate in a small supported group setting
The program is appropriate for children with social communication challenges, including those with Autism, ADHD, or similar developmental profiles.
❋ About the Program
This small-group program (4–8 participants) based in our Noosaville clinic provides structured teaching of a specific social communication or engagement skill each session, followed by supported Minecraft play where children practise these skills with their peers. Groups remain the same throughout the program to support relationship building, comfort, and confidence.
iPads are provided for all participants, and no prior Minecraft experience is required.
Parents receive session handouts outlining the concepts covered, optional home-practice activities, and a brief report summarising their child’s progress at the conclusion of the program.
